Visitors to this site who wish to find out more about the Society should refer to the British Journal of Addiction Special Issue [Volume 85, Number 8, August 1990].

This issue is entitled "The Society for the Study of Addiction 1884-1988" and was written by Virginia Berridge, an historian at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
