The Society was founded in 1884. It is a learned society whose key objective is to support the communication of scientific knowledge about dependence on alcohol, nicotine and other drugs. It aims to encourage the systematic study of dependence and to promote policy analysis.
Our aim is to add to and promote the scientific understanding of addiction and problems related to it.
