  • Outline how the aims of the conference support the aims and objectives of the Society.

  • Please provide a detailed planning and execution timeline for the event, from conception to output.

  • Budget

  • A complete, itemised, detailed breakdown must be provided, including all planned costs of the event, how and where proceedings of events will be published, full allocation of editing, proof-reading, proceeds, royalties, projected print-runs, distribution and any other costs must be obtained – eg from the proposed publisher – and detailed.

     

    The applicant must confirm acceptance of the following statement:

    This is the full and entire budget requested for this funding proposal. I, on behalf of the organisers, understand and accept that the SSA will not fund un-budgeted over-spends. In the event that the proposed budget is likely to be exceeded, the SSA will be consulted in advance, and its consent requested.

     

  • The applicant must specify contingency plans in case of budget over-spend, and specify which area(s) of the proposal has the potential to exceed the budget.

  • For negotiation with the SSA's Trustees

  • Give details of the event's content: agenda, themes, invited speakers; programme, if available. Where applicable, outline any prior years' conferences, and any SSA support or involvement they received.

  •  

    What will the event produce? Detail its anticipated tangible outputs, how they will be disseminated, and give key objectives essential for the success of the event.

    In particular, give details of outputs intended to be made available via the SSA.

     

  • Applicant's details

    CV of proposer – no more than 2 sides of A4.

    The applicant must be a single individual who will liaise with the Society on behalf of the conference organising team.

     

  •  

    The Society will not support initiatives that also receive support linked to the alcohol, tobacco or gambling industries.

Covid-19

As an organisation, we continue to function during the developing pandemic.

We are following all government and Charity Commission guidance in respect of staff and reporting issues.

Our funding schemes remain open and we are continuing to programme our conferences planned for November 2020.
