The SSA’s Addiction journal is seeking to expand its pool of Deputy Statistics and Methodology Editors. This opportunity will be ideal for people with a strong empirical background in medical or social sciences, experience or interest in addiction research, and formal qualifications in statistics or epidemiology or health economics.
The Society owns two academic journals – Addiction and Addiction Biology – and invests all income from these publications back into the sector to support people, projects, and research in addiction science.
Addiction regularly ranks as the top journal in addiction science. It has a busy publication schedule and a wide reach; in 2024, Addiction published 274 articles and its texts were read over two million times.
The journal is currently looking for new Deputy Statistics and Methodology Editors. People in this role will support the Senior Editor by reviewing the statistical, methodological, and presentational aspects of about 1–3 articles per month, with a target turnaround time of 7–10 days. Strong applicants will have knowledge of regression models for the analysis of epidemiological studies, randomised controlled trials, and complex survey designs.
