Tickets are now available for Future Leaders in Addiction Science – an event hosted by Addiction Healthcare Goals, the Medical Research Council, and the Society for the Study of Addiction that will explore the latest developments in addiction research and discuss emerging leadership pathways within the field.

Future Leaders in Addiction Science is aimed primarily at early- and mid-career researchers with an interest in addiction science and leadership development. It is intended to provide insight into career pathways and the application of research in healthcare and policy settings.

The event will take place on Thursday 11 June 2026 at Scale Space, 58 Wood Lane, London, W12 7RZ. It will reflect on the achievements of the Medical Research Council (MRC) Addiction Research Clinical (MARC) training programme and look forward to what is to come with the Addiction Healthcare Goals flagship research leadership programme.

Confirmed speakers include Dame Carol Black GBE, independent adviser to the UK Government on drugs, as well as MARC graduates Dr Katherine Herlinger, Dr Miriam Hillyard, Dr Prianka Padmanathan, Dr Emmert Roberts, Dr Daniel Titheradge, and Dr Samuel Turton, and SSA alumni Dr Katherine East, Professor Tom Freeman, Professor Caitlin Notley, and Dr Paul Toner.
