Apply to join the Addiction journal team as a Deputy Statistics and Methodology Editor.

About the role

Addiction journal is seeking to expand its pool of Deputy Statistics and Methodology Editors. The new editors would be required to support the Senior Editor by reviewing the statistical, methodological, and presentational aspects of about 1–3 articles per month, with a target turnaround time of 7–10 days. Editors will be paid £50 per paper. The workload can be flexible, depending on other commitments.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A strong empirical background in medical or social sciences
  • Experience or interest in addiction research
  • Formal qualifications in statistics or epidemiology or health economics

Papers will be assigned to match the editors’ areas of expertise, so you will not be expected to be a specialist in every type of analytic methodology used in the study of addiction. However, a good working knowledge of the following is likely to be important: regression models for the analysis of epidemiological studies, randomised controlled trials, and complex survey designs.

The journal is keen to broaden its international representation. As the team is currently well represented by colleagues based in Europe and Australia, Addiction is particularly interested in increasing the number of Deputy Statistics and Methodology Editors from North America.
