The SSA is now accepting submissions for poster presentations, oral presentations, and workshops at the 2026 Annual Conference in Newcastle upon Tyne. Apply by 2 June for the opportunity to contribute to a conference that celebrates excellence in addiction science.

The SSA’s Annual Conference is the UK’s foremost gathering of addiction researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and experts by experience. The 2026 event will take place on Thursday 12 November and Friday 13 November in Newcastle upon Tyne, and will be headlined by Professor Linda Bauld OBE, who will deliver the Society Lecture titled, ‘What’s evidence got to do with it? Providing scientific advice in policy contexts’.

The programme will include a range of presentations, symposia, and workshops, as well as dedicated times for networking and viewing posters. Poster presenters will be considered for an award for ‘best visual’, ‘most innovative’, or ‘best overall’ in either the student or non-student category, and speakers will have the opportunity to be featured in a conference proceedings supplement of Addiction journal.

If you would like to present your research or host a workshop, complete the application below by 2 June. Please use the enquiry form if you have any questions.
