Biography
Dr Sarah Fox is a Senior Lecturer (Research pathway) based in the School of Nursing and Public Health at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her work examines the intersections of gender and substance use, with a particular focus on amplifying the voices of women who face barriers to support, including survivors of domestic abuse and ethnic minority women. She leads feminist, qualitative, creative, and narrative participatory research projects involving women with lived experience and frontline practitioners to inform policy and practice. Her research directly informs practice, shaping frontline responses to women affected by substance use by providing evidence that supports more inclusive, trauma-informed and culturally responsive services.
