The Society owns two academic journals – Addiction and Addiction Biology – and invests all income from these publications back into the sector to support people, projects, and research in addiction science.

Addiction has been in publication since 1884. It publishes peer-reviewed research reports on pharmalogical and behavioural addictions, offers a lively forum for debate with editorials, commentaries, interviews with leading figures in the field, and a comprehensive book review section. Addiction is overseen by Editor-in-Chief, Professor John Marsden.

Addiction Biology focuses on advancing the understanding of substances and addiction from a neuroscience perspective. Accepted papers typically span behavioral, molecular, genetic, biochemical, neurobiological, and pharmacological fields of animal experimentation and clinical research. Addiction Biology is led by Editor-in-Chief, Professor Rainer Spanagel.
