A drug consumption van has started operating in Glasgow despite suggestions from the UK government that such facilities could be breaking the law. The facility enables people who inject drugs to do so in a safe environment, reducing the risk of overdose and blood-borne viruses. The initiative is in response to recent increases in HIV transmission and drug-related deaths in Glasgow.
