The SSA is now accepting applications for oral presentations, poster presentations, and workshops at the next Annual Conference. Find out how to be part of an exciting event that celebrates excellence in addiction science.
The SSA’s Annual Conference brings together addiction researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and experts by experience who are enthusiastic about presenting and discussing advancements in addiction science. The 2025 Annual Conference attracted a record number of almost 300 delegates from Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Kosovo, Mexico, Norway, Romania, Russia, Singapore, and the US, as well as from around the UK.
The next event will take place on Thursday 12 November and Friday 13 November in Newcastle upon Tyne, and will be headlined by Professor Linda Bauld OBE, who will deliver the Society Lecture titled, ‘What’s evidence got to do with it? Providing scientific advice in policy contexts’.
If you would like to share your research or shape discussions about addiction science, please consider submitting an application for an oral presentation, poster presentation, or workshop at the 2026 Annual Conference. Poster presenters will be considered for an award for ‘best visual’, ‘most innovative’, or ‘best overall’ in either the student or non-student category, and speakers will have the opportunity to be featured in a conference proceedings supplement of Addiction journal.
Apply to present or deliver a workshop and visit the conference home page for up-to-date information about the SSA’s Annual Conference.
