It’s finally arrived. This week is the SSA Annual Conference and PhD Symposium. For those of you who have tickets, we look forward to seeing you over the next few days. For those of you that don’t, sadly booking is now closed. We look forward to seeing you at the in-person (fingers crossed) conference in 2022.

All people with tickets should have received an email with login instructions early on Monday 1 November. There is an abridged version of the attendance information at the bottom of this page for your reference.

This year, the Society Lecture will be by Professor John Kelly from Harvard Medical School who has consulted to nations, United Nations and US federal agencies. His lecture will cover what has been learned about addiction recovery in the past 50 years and the promise of the resulting new movement of addiction science.

The closing plenary will be by Professor Dame Carol Black talking about improving recovery and her independent review of drugs from this year. Professor Black has been president of the Royal College of Physicians and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.

Details of all the sessions and speakers are available on our website.

We at the SSA sincerely hope you enjoy the next few days. If you simply can’t wait, here’s a video to whet your appetite.

SSA Annual Conference 2021 – log-in instructions for delegates

Thanks to all who’ve booked to attend this year’s SSA Annual Conference. Booking is now closed and we’re busy getting everything ready for the event.

If you haven’t already, we strongly suggest all delegates install Google Chrome or Firefox to allow full functionality, then follow the account set-up and registration instructions you received in your delegate log-in email on Monday 1 November.

If you have any problems with Hopin, the troubleshooting guide is here:

Please note, the lowest internet speed for Hopin to work is 5mbps; however, 30mbps or more is recommended.

Attendance certificates: We will send a link to delegates during the Conference with which you can generate your attendance certificate and also complete a feedback form.

Sharing content: Material presented at our Annual Conference is the intellectual property of its authors and we ask that delegates do not re-broadcast video from any of the online sessions.

After the conference: We intend to record all presentations and, with authors’ consent, make them available afterwards to delegates. Other material, such as speakers’ biographies, photos and abstracts are currently online.
