We are delighted to announce that the winner of the SSA Impact Prize, in this, its inaugural year, is Dr Sarah Jackson. Sarah is a Senior Research Fellow at University College London Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group, and engages with a wide variety of groups and figures across the field and outside it, including key decision-makers in government as well as researchers, health professionals and tobacco control policy experts. She has advised on measurement of smoking status in tobacco control surveys and helped to develop a strategy for more formal statistical comparison. Her research has influenced tobacco control policy and her recent meta-analysis on continuous abstinence rates and pharmacological smoking cessation aids was used by Public Health England and NHS England to support work to facilitate a smoking cessation intervention in hospitals. Her analysis on smoking and social housing has contributed to a report by ASH on smoking in the home. Follow her at @DrSarahEJackson
