Biography
Dr Inge Kersbergen is a senior lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath. She has a background in behavioural science with a focus on how drink and meal characteristics (e.g. warning labels, product size, and alcohol/calorie content) influence alcohol consumption and eating behaviour. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Liverpool, which investigated visual attention to alcohol warning labels and responsible drinking messages within alcohol marketing. She is currently doing research on alcohol warning labels and alcohol-free and low-alcohol drinks.
Declaration of interests
Inge is employed at the University of Bath. She is a member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Technical Advisory Group for alcohol labelling, and is a current (April 2026) recipient of research funding from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). She has received funding from Alcohol Change UK for research on alcohol-free and low-alcohol drinks. Alcohol Change UK (ACUK) received <0.6 % of its funds in 2024-5 from Lucky Saint, an organisation that produces and sells alcohol-free and low alcohol drinks, owns a pub that sells standard alcoholic drinks, and became a Portman Group member in 2025.
