Biography
Rob joined the SSA in November 2019 and has worked in communications and operations roles since then. In January 2025, Rob became the SSA’s Chief Executive Officer.
Rob has worked in addiction treatment and research settings for over 20 years, starting his career working in third-sector community drug treatment services. He is committed to supporting early-career researchers and has a keen interest in research that can directly improve the help offered to people who experience harms from addictive products and behaviours. Rob’s own research has focused on delivery of evidence-based practice in addiction treatment settings. He has also worked on research into vaping, and on primary care interventions for homeless people. He enjoys music and running. Separately.
