Manchester has implemented a ban on smoking outside pubs and restaurants. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, many food and drink retailers have been granted ‘pavement licences’ in order to continue serving food whilst reducing the risk of spreading the virus. Manchester council has banned smoking outside such establishments to protect diners from the health impact of second-hand smoke.
