I will be undertaking an SSA funded PhD at the University of Bath, with cross-institutional supervision from researchers at the University of Bristol. My project seeks to accurately understand the individual and combined roles of cannabis and tobacco in mental illness, through triangulation of cross-country data and different analytical techniques. The project aims to advance the scientific understanding in this area, to inform the way in which tobacco and cannabis are controlled internationally, and thereby reduce the risk and impact of mental illnesses in addiction.
I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Psychology from the University of Durham and Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) degree in Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the University of Surrey. I have worked as an NHS mental health practitioner and am currently completing a Master of Research (MRes) degree in Psychology within the Addiction and Mental Health group at the University of Bath.
