#CAGR2019 is an independently funded conference, designed to bring together those researching all aspects of gambling.

Funded by the Society for the Study of Addiction, the single day conference aims to bring together inter-disciplinary academic experts in a range of gambling fields to discuss the latest data driven developments in research on gambling in a supportive and critically reflective environment. The event aims to showcase some of the excellent gambling research being done in the UK and provide a networking opportunity for researchers.

Currently, gambling research is commonly shared at related professional meetings, such as those organised by learned societies from psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience, business or sociology, or at industry-funded conferences, where the research focus is usually quite specific, and which often overlooks the social and cultural context in which gambling takes place. This conference will provide UK researchers with the first independent gambling specific event to share current knowledge advancement.

The organisation and curation of this conference is free of any industry influence or funding, providing researchers with a platform to convey research findings in a neutral environment. It aims to provide an opportunity for gambling researchers in the UK, often operating in isolation, to network and collaborate, allowing development of a more collaborative, cohesive approach to gambling research.

We look forward to seeing you there!
