The SSA’s Addiction journal is seeking to expand its pool of Associate Editors. This opportunity is focused on people with specialist knowledge of gambling research.
The Society owns two academic journals – Addiction and Addiction Biology – and invests all income from these publications back into the sector to support people, projects, and research in addiction science.
Addiction is one of the top journals in addiction science. It has a busy publication schedule and a wide reach; in 2025, Addiction published 315 articles and its texts were read over two million times.
The journal is currently looking for new Associate Editors. People in this role will support the Senior Editor by identifying suitable referees, and making an assessment and recommendation.
In recognition of their contribution, Associate Editors receive online subscriptions to Addiction and Addiction Biology, and free associateship with the Society for the Study of Addiction.
