Health guidelines for England and Wales are expected to be finalised in the next year, providing much-needed direction on the diagnosis of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. Yet, after two rounds of consultation, vociferous objections from women’s organisations, and a delay due to COVID-19, it is still far from clear what the final text will look like.
